The Matnas (also called “Zamarin”)

is the cultural and sports centre for residents of Zichron Yaakov. Most events and activities are conducted in Hebrew. There are classes, a music Conservatory, and trips for both adults and children. Films, often with English subtitles, and musical events are also held here, in the nearby Beit Nir Auditorium, or the First Aliyah Museum. Elma Theater

Ramat Hanadiv

the impressive nearby park holds concerts and events throughout the year.  Many do not require Hebrew, and the movie about Ramat Hanadiv can be seen in the park’s theater in English.  www.ramat-hanadiv.org.il or 04.6298106

Bridge

is held Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesday from 5 – 7 PM for many levels in the Moshava.  It is open to Zichron residents only, and is free of charge.  Contact Gerard at 054.6129795   Gerard also teaches basic computer skills and has computers to use for free to people with low income.

Movies

are available in the Yes Planet movie theaters in “Mall Zichron”, with many in English or with English subtitles.  www.yesplanet.co.il 

Cultural Activities in Synagogues Open To All

Some of the local synagogues and other groups also provide cultural activities that are open to and appropriate for the general public, especially Kehillat Veahavta and Kehillat Moed (contact info for both are presented under Jewish Study).
